What is GYTY53 Fiber Optic cable?
GYTY53 optical cable is an outdoor optical cable designed for long-distance data transmission and telecommunication networks, especially suitable for harsh environments including direct burial and duct installation.
GYTY53 The fibers,250μmm,are position in a loose tube made of a high modulus plastic. The tube are filled with a water resistant filling compound.A steel wire, sometimes sheathed with ployethylene(PE) for cable with high fiber count, locates in the center of core as a metallic strength member.
Tubes (and fillers) are stranded around the strength member into a compact and circular cable core.the cable core is filled with filling compound to protect it from water ingress, over which a thin PE inner sheath is applied. After the PSP is longitudinally applied overthe inner sheath, the cable is completed with a PE sheath.
Here’s an overview of its design, features, and applications:
Structure:
Central Loose Tube: The optical fibers are housed in a loose tube filled with water-blocking gel. This gel provides protection against moisture and mechanical stress, ensuring the integrity of the fibers.
PE (Polyethylene) Jacket: Like GYTA53, the GYTY53 cable has both an inner and outer PE jacket that offers environmental protection from water, dust, and chemicals.
Steel Tape Armoring (TY53): The "TY53" in GYTY53 indicates that it has a steel tape armoring for extra mechanical protection. The steel tape is usually corrugated for better flexibility and to resist pressure from external forces, such as rocks or heavy equipment.
Steel Wire Strength Member: A layer of steel wire is also embedded within the cable to provide additional mechanical strength, preventing the cable from stretching during installation.
Features:
Water-blocking: The loose tube design filled with gel and the dual PE jackets provide excellent protection against moisture, making it suitable for underground and outdoor environments.
High Tensile Strength: The steel tape armoring, combined with the steel wire reinforcement, provides excellent tensile strength, allowing the cable to withstand the physical stress of installation and external loads.
Rodent and Mechanical Protection: The steel tape armoring provides resistance to rodent attacks and mechanical pressure, making it suitable for direct burial in areas with a risk of rodent damage or high external pressure.
Temperature Resistance: GYTY53 is designed to operate in a wide temperature range, making it ideal for use in various climate conditions.
Multiple Fiber Capacity: It can accommodate multiple optical fibers, supporting high-capacity data transmission over long distances.
Applications:
Direct Burial: GYTY53 is often installed directly in the ground due to its steel tape armoring and overall rugged construction.
Duct Installations: It can also be placed in ducts, especially in environments where high mechanical protection is required.
Long-Distance Telecommunications: The cable is commonly used in backbone networks, where high-capacity data transmission is necessary.
Harsh Environments: Its robust structure makes it ideal for outdoor installations in areas prone to environmental stress, including rodent damage, moisture, and mechanical forces.
Differences from GYTA53:
Steel Tape vs. Aluminum Tape: The primary difference between GYTY53 and GYTA53 is the type of armoring. GYTY53 uses corrugated steel tape, while GYTA53 uses aluminum tape. Steel tape generally offers better mechanical protection and resistance to damage, while aluminum tape provides slightly better corrosion resistance.
Application Focus: While both cables are suitable for harsh environments, GYTY53 is often preferred for installations where mechanical damage (e.g., from rocks or rodents) is a significant concern, while GYTA53 might be favored in areas where corrosion resistance is more critical.
GYTY53 fiber optic cable is a robust, armored cable designed for outdoor and underground installations, providing high tensile strength, water resistance, and mechanical protection for long-distance, high-capacity data transmission.
